Discovering Da Vinci's Daughter Cover

Contact

Hi my name is Derek! I'm a writer, photographer, and a digital artist. For the last 6+ years i've been working on a book called: "Discovering Da Vinci's Daughter". It's mostly about different discoveries I've made with Leonardo da Vinci's art: Inluding the Mona Lisa, Last Supper, Vitruvian Man, The Shroud of Turin, and more. It's a long story (hence the book) but I found that he used a previously un-discovered techniques to hide/ disguise additional images in his art that can't be seen without knowing how.

“There are three classes of people: those who see. Those who see when they are shown. Those who do not see.” -daVinci

To understand what I've found has led me to research other subjects that include optics, perception, perspective, humanities, optical illusions, and our vision system. These same subjects were explained in epic detail in Leonardo's own journals. It was through his journals and studying them with modern technology, that I have been able to understand how he achieved this "new" technique.

"I reveal to men the origin of the first, or perhaps second cause of their existence." daVinci

He was the first to conceive of tanks, planes, robots, automobiles, parachutes, submarines, and other things that were FAR ahead of their time. This inventiveness wasn't limited to engineering and inventions but also to revolutionizing art and painting. Anamorphosis, stereography, "photography", 3D  and painting with transparent layers “Sfumato” were in his technical artistic arsenal. What I’ve discovered will add even more advanced achievements to the ever increasing legacy of the amazing Leonardo da Vinci.

“All of our knowledge has it's origins in our perceptions.” -daVinci

My book will follow the journey i've been on in something i'm calling "Interjections" that are interwoven between each chapter. How did a 20'something go from working as a receptionist & going to community college to running away to Australia and eventually to writing a book about Leonardo da Vinci? Why? How?

You can preview "Discovering Da Vinci's Daughter" by going through this site and visiting my blog.

"Why does the eye see a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake?" -daVinci

We're always under construction so please forgive any errors. Spreading the word about this site helps me out a lot. Thanks! Contact me:

"Science is the observation of things possible, whether present or past. Prescience is the knowledge of things which may come to pass, though but slowly." - daVinci

This section previews some of the things i've found regarding Leonardo's "Last Supper" in the book there are more images and details.

OK, so The Last Supper. I have been mirroring images on themselves since the first day I made my initial discovery with the Mona Lisa. I found that if you crossed the painting over on itself at with the transparency changed the figures seemed to align and combine in a very intricate way.

But what I actually noticed first before mirroring the painting on itself is what happens when its crossed over on itself - NOT mirrored. This could be done with crossing your eyes and is just like a stereogram effect - which I describe in my book...

Derek Bair | Itsjustlife.com | da Vinci | Last Supper Mirrored Detail Showing Jesus holding a baby over his shoulder

One of the things I noticed was that it looked like the characters were passing around a baby. Here are the images that made me think that. I think it'sobvious why. These are not altered to look this way, they are the painting mirrored on itself and nothing more. So it's not like I tried to make it look this way -thats just how it is. For all those in doubt rememberthis is JUST a painting and Da Vinci's opinion and doesn't mean it's real. The implications are not my motive! But yes, it is verycontroversial obviously. It's not just Jesus but other characters that seem to hold the baby as the painting is placed indifferentpositions.

It's obvious that this character was intended to be a woman.

Da Vinci left clues behind.

Derek Bair | Itsjustlife.com | da Vinci | The Last Supper Before the Recent Restoration

But the painting has been restored and altered from it's original state. It also started to fall apart before Da Vinci died but I think a lot of the details are still intact. I also think it's falling apart wasn't accidental but intentional on Da Vinci's part and was suppose to! Either to fall apart and unveil something underneath or something like that. There is a pattern to the places where it fell apart and that's what makes me think he meant for it to.

Derek Bair | Itsjustlife.com | da Vinci | Last Supper Comparison pre and post restoration, notice the changes

I found a picture of the Last Supper in a really old book that shows that the details of the hand were changed. It once had a hole where the crucifixion wound would be with blood poring into a cup - obviously not a coincidence since that's what this painting is suppose to depict and what it says in the bible about drinking his blood/ wine.

I think that the restorers or someone who's altered the painting has some knowledge of these secrets and purposely did things to make them less obvious.

The hands on the "Mary" character are not in proportion to her body and I dont think they were originally like they are now - Da Vinci knew anatomy and proportion more than almost anyone in the world.

What's hidden in this painting might be more than a revelation in artistc technique and its religious implications...

Derek Bair | Itsjustlife.com | da Vinci | Last Supper Mirrored x4...

You can see there are patterns and what look like abstract cartoon in this. It's the Last Supper mirrored, rotated, and placed on itself many times. It makes an animation in different intervals which I can kinda see, but not really understand. I think there is a way to view it to make it literally become an animation. .

This section is being updated.

"Last Supper theory crashes websites

" Now Slavisa Pesci, an information technologist and amateur scholar, says superimposing the Last Supper with its mirror-image throws up another picture containing a figure who looks like a Templar knight and another holding a small baby.

by Barry ORegan | July 28, 2007 at 06:32 am"

"I came across it by accident, from some of the details you can infer that we are not talking about chance but about a precise calculation," Pesci told journalists when he unveiled the theory this week.

his Websites ... had 15 million hits on Thursday morning alone, organizers said, adding they were trying to provide a more powerful server for the sites."

You can imagine my frustration when I had made the same Discovery more than a year PREVIOUSLY (And it was already published in my book) and couldn't get any one to notice. Then someone else releases the same thing and gets 15MILLION hits in less than a day. On average my site gets less than 40.

You can fantasize about the potential sales my book could have gotten had I been mentioned, or been as succesful with my own press releases that had gone out even EARLIER than his... the potential % of 15 million (IN ONE DAY!) interested readers is incredible...

Derek Bair | Itsjustlife.com | da Vinci | Sydney Opera House Mirrored 2003

‎I made this image of the Opera House before: Wednesday, ‎August ‎27, ‎2003, ‏‎4:22:12 AM When I was studying Digital media in Sydney. I had been mirroring images in Photoshop for artistic effect - this one in particular was for the title image of this web site. So when I started my da Vinci research it was not a far step to use a mirroring technique. Since Leonardo actually wrote MIRRORED it's not too surprising he used a new and revolutionary "mirroring" technique in his art.

How he was able to do that without a computer... is another story completely...

This is a very crude animation I made that shows what I mean. You'll notice the green tie on the shoulder of the guy to the left turns into a mask on almost all the other characters.

There are dozens of videos on YOUTUBE.com that show this effect. They are all a result of pesci's press release and not what I already had in my book. There are literally millions of views to these videos - which could have sent readers to my site.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK-tIt8xSBk&feature=related

The video above has gotten 1,385,867 views. (And there are dozens more) My web site hasn't even gotten over 10,000 views.

A real Da Vinci Code? - Unexplained_Mysteries.com

"He has his research on his web site http://www.itsjustlife.com and says he will keep it updated with his current research which includes discovering a new way to view the Last Supper with shows that the feminine looknig character is indeed a woman and holding a baby. He insists that this is just a painting and isn't interested in the implications beyond what Da Vinci painted."

Anyways! Its been difficult to see "new" news stories being released being so popular - when the exact same things have already been written IN my book years previously. Not only that but the best parts about what I found and the most revolutionary discovories have yet to be revealed. I'm sure you can now understand my discretion!

I'm going to be working on a youtube video soon to help promote my book. Until then if you have anyway to help spread the word I would really apprecaite it.
